ROTAX KARTING IRELAND ANNOUNCES €50,000 PRIZE FUND

Rotax Karting Ireland, together with their partners, are delighted to announce an unprecedented prize fund for karting in Ireland.

2024 marked the first year of the All-Ireland Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC). After its successful inception, Motorsport Ireland has affiliated the full RMC and commissioned a new stand-alone Rotax championship for 2025. The championship will be based in both the North & South of Ireland and will feature five classes: Cadet Micro MAX, Inter Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX and Senior MAX 177. The classes cater to drivers ranging from 7 (turning 8 this year) to senior drivers, including the 177 class, which runs with an additional 15kg.

Rotax Karting Ireland recognizes the importance of developing driver talent within Ireland. As part of the prize, there will be a test day with the multiple championship-winning team, Murray Motorsport. The test, supported by Mondello Park, will offer the top three drivers in Junior and Senior MAX the opportunity to test a Junior Mini and a SEAT Supercup at Mondello Park.

Drivers will race for the coveted Rotax Grand Final tickets, which will be awarded to the Inter Mini, Junior, and Senior MAX classes. These tickets offer drivers the chance to race at a week-long event with brand new equipment, completely free of charge. The 2025 event will take place in Bahrain during the first week of December. The tickets cannot be purchased and can only be won in competition. The event features 400 drivers from across 60 countries, who go head-to-head in equal machinery. The champions of the other classes, where tickets are not available, will receive a free Rotax engine.

This updated All-Ireland RMC will feature the historic events known as the Golden Helmet Trophy, All Ireland (IRL Plate), Irish Open (O Plate) and Race of Champions (C Plate). For two of these headline events, the winners of each class will receive a Bell helmet and a custom printed OMP suit in a bespoke design by their designer.

Across the eight events, the top three in each class will receive a €200 Rotax voucher, an XPS lubricant pack, and Rotax merchandise. A set of tyres will be raffled randomly for all five classes. The total prize fund exceeds €50,000, making it one of the largest prize funds in Irish motorsport.
